Carbon Fiber Weaves Explained: Twill, Forged, Honeycomb and Reflective

Forged carbon fiber swatch by Sveacarbon

Every Sveacarbon part is made to order, so you choose how it looks. The weave changes the look of the part; it does not change where it mounts or what it fits. This guide shows the options we offer and what each one suits.

The options at a glance

Weave Look Good for
Classic carbon (twill) The diagonal black weave most people picture as carbon A clean OEM-plus look on any bike
Forged carbon Marble-like random pattern, no visible weave Standing out without adding colour
Coloured carbon (blue, red, green) Twill weave with coloured threads Matching the bike's brand colour
Honeycomb (black or white) Hexagon pattern A technical, race-inspired look; white is the boldest choice
White carbon twill Twill pattern in white Bright bikes and white plastics
Reflective (blue, red, green, purple, gold, bronze, silver) Weave that shifts colour as light hits it Parts that change look from every angle
Titanium Silver-grey metallic weave A cool, metallic finish

Which options are available depends on the part. The product page and the configurator only show what can be made for that part, with the price for each choice.

Classic carbon

The standard choice and the starting price on every part. It suits every colour of bike and is the safest choice if you are unsure.

Forged carbon

Made from chopped carbon fibres instead of a woven sheet, which gives a pattern that is different on every part. No two forged parts look the same.

Coloured carbon

Blue carbon fiber twill swatch

The same twill weave with blue, red or green threads woven in. Popular choices: blue on Husqvarna and Sherco, red on Beta. On KTM, classic or forged carbon with orange-toned flakes is common.

Honeycomb

White honeycomb carbon weave swatch

A hexagon pattern in black or white. White honeycomb is one of our most requested finishes for full tank sets.

Reflective

The weave catches the light and shifts in colour depending on the angle. It looks calm in the shade and loud in the sun.

Flakes and fades

On top of the weave you can add flakes in blue, light blue, red, green, purple, silver or 24k gold. A fade blends one finish into another across the part. Both are added per part and priced in the configurator.

How to choose

  • Not sure? Classic carbon. It always works and costs the least.
  • Want it to be noticed? White honeycomb or a reflective weave.
  • Want it to match the bike? Coloured carbon or flakes in the brand colour.
  • Building a set? Use the same finish on every part. Ordering two parts gives 10 % off, three or more 15 %.

Common questions

Does the weave change the fit?

No. The fit comes from the mould for your model; the weave is the surface you see.

Do photos show exactly my part?

Carbon is laid by hand, so the pattern varies slightly between parts, especially forged carbon. That is normal and not a fault.

How long does it take?

Every part is made to order. Production usually takes 4–6 weeks; complex parts can take longer. Contact us for a precise date.
